Willie B. Richardson was born on June 26, 1923 to Stella Watkins and Luther Richardson. He was raised with his mother and siblings until his mother's death. He then moved in with his father and aunt Ora in Stamps, Arkansas. After graduating from High School, he joined the military and later married his sweetheart Odessa Bell Richardson. From this union, four children were born. Betty, Ruby, Patsy and Walter. Billy Herman was also adopted and raised as his own.
Smart, hardworking and dedicated, Willie worked tirelessly as an entrepreneur to provide for his family. He also served as a role model to many young men and women both in the community and at church. For all who knew him, his knowledge and experience was evident by the advice and stories he shared. Willie knew the Lord and proudly professed his faith on a daily basis.
Willie joined Pine Hill CME Church early in life and served as a dedicated member in numerous capacities. He was the Superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday School Teacher, member of the benevolent committee, Trustee Board, and Chairman of the Steward Board. In addition, he served as a District Lay Leader for a number of years.
Our beloved Willie served as a member of Talley Masonic for over 60 years. He was a 3rd degree Master Mason with Talley #177 Masonic Lodge and served as Marshall for a few years. He was also a Worthy Patron with Talley #87 Order of the Eastern Star.
