Reflection of Life
Walter Bryant Hankton departed this life on Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, Ar. He was born December 24, 1952 in Strong, AR to Walter James Hankton and Montee Thrower. He was his mother and father’s only child. In 1964, his father married Cleta Mae Wayne of Marion, LA, who loved and reared him like a son. Walter was preceded in death by his biological mother and father.
Walter developed an early ability for using his hands, and he became a talented electrician, tradesman and builder. He possessed a warm smile and jovial personality and will be remembered for his easy-going personality. Walter loved his family and one of his life’s greatest highlights was the Hankton Family Reunion, held annually at his father’s farm and in later years, at Walter and Cleta Mae Hankton’s home.
He leaves to cherish his memories, daughter, Destiny Hankton of Frisco, TX, son, Walter Bryant Hankton, Jr. of Fayetteville, AR; special mother, Cleta Mae Hankton of Strong, AR; special companion, Marilyn Jenson of Strong, AR; special grandchildren, Carmello Brown, Jamal Norman and Amaya Bean of Strong, AR; brother, Frederick Hankton of Little Rock, AR; sister Linda Hallman of Portland, OR; uncle Jim (Lucille) Hankton of Dermont, AR; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
