Life Notes
Mother Viola Mack-Brown was born December 15, 1920, to Sam and Effie Mack in Columbia County, Arkansas. She attended school at Damascus High in Village, Arkansas.
Mother Viola, along with her parents, brothers, and sisters attended Mount Israel CME Church in the Atlanta community where she gave her life to Christ at an early age.
She moved to Nashville, Arkansas, where she met and married the late Nehemiah Brown. To this union two children were born: Gertrude Brown and Sammie Lee Brown. She later relocated to Oakland, California, where she met and married the late Gilbert Stone. To this union one child was born: Wilbert Stone. (Stoney)
In 1962, Mother Brown returned to Magnolia, Arkansas, where she worked in nursing at Magnolia Regional Hospital until her retirement.
Mother Brown united with the Greater Harvest Church of God in Christ of Magnolia where she continued to be a faithful member until her death. She was very fond of Pastor Larry Roach and was happy to share his teachings with all who would listen. She loved her grandchildren and always had a word of wisdom for them, other family members, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her siblings: Senobia Easter, Sarah Claudy, Ben Mack, and Elmo Mack; her parents, Sam and Effie Mack; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren.
She leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter, Gertrude Hollowell of Palm Springs, California; Two sons: Sammie Brown of Banning, California, and Wilbert Stone of Magnolia, Arkansas; Twenty-two grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends.
