Obituary
Sister Veora Ephriam was born on February 19, 1936 to Rev. James T. Abbott and Emma Woodfork in Columbia County, Arkansas. She departed this life on June 24, 2013 at Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.At an early age, she joined Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member until her health failed her. She was very active in several auxiliaries throughout the church, which includes: Sunday School, mission, choir and served as church musician for over fifty years.She moved to Los Angles, California in her early years and dwelt their for a few years. She then returned home to Columbia County, Arkansas where her first son, James Mike Abbott, was born. Veora received her education from Arkansas AM&N College in Pine Bluff.She was employed at Columbia High School, and after integration she gained employment with the Magnolia Public School System. She was the secretary at East Side Elementary for over thirty-five years.She united in holy matrimony to Johnny Paul Ephriam, to the union two sons were born, Kenneth and Kevin.She was preceded in death by her husband, J.P. Ephriam, her parents, father, Rev. James Abbott, and mother, Emma Woodfork.She leaves to cherish her memory: three sons; James Mike Abbott(Michelle) of Mesquite, Texas, Kenneth Ephriam of Little Rock, Arkansas, Kevin Ephriam of Magnolia, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Cory Ephriam, Nikita Henderson, J.T. Abbott, Caneshia Ephriam, KeVonce Ephriam all of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Kimberly Reed of Magnolia, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren, one god-son, Danny Harris of Texarkana, Texas; two special friends, Elizabeth Mullins and Thelma Johnson of Magnolia, Arkansas, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
