Obituary
Shirley Monk was born to Bobbie Monk and the late
J.C. Kelly on January 25, 1955. Shirley departed this life on March 1, 2013.
Shirley joined Austin Temple Church at an early age, where she taught Sunday School.
Shirley attended school in the Walker Public School District in Magnolia. She furthered her education at Southern
Arkansas University in Magnolia, Arkansas and in
St. Louis Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her father, J. C. Kelly; her grandmother and grandfather, Susie and Talbot Monk; and a cousin, Gesil Blakemore.
She leaves to cherish her life: Mother, Bobbie Cooper of Magnolia, Arkansas; (3) Daughters, Joann Pruitt, Ashley Pruitt, and Shauntai (Calvin) Reed all of Magnolia,
Arkansas; (1) Son, Devaunce Robinson of Magnolia,
Arkansas; (1) Brother, Rodney (Barbara) Cooper of
Magnolia, Arkansas; (2) Aunts, Margie Payne of Cedar Hills, Texas, and Joyce (Robert) Luke of Chesterfield,
Missouri; (2) Great Aunts; (1) Uncle; (1) Niece, Nicole Walker of Magnolia, Arkansas; (1) Nephew, Rodney Cooper Jr. of Magnolia, Arkansas; and 12 Grandchildren. Shirley had an abundance of cousins, friends, and classmates.
