Obituary
On April 23, 1943, Sam Candler, Jr. was born to the union of Sam Candler, Sr. and Irene Pace Candler. He was the tenth (10th) son and fifteenth (15th) child.
Sam accepted Christ at an early age and united with the Sweet Home Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. E.A. Porchia in Buena Vista, Arkansas.
He attended Carver High School until he graduated. He then moved to San Francisco, CA and worked a short while. He returned to Arkansas where he was employed with Ouachita County until he retired during that time, he met and married Tina Faye Parham. To this union two (2) sons were born, and he gained two (2) daughters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one (1) son, Michael, seven (7) brothers and five (5) sisters.
He is survived by one (1) son, Mark Candler, two (2) daughters, Tina LaShun and Nora. One (1) brother, James (May) Candler, two (2) sisters, Ruth Johnson and Mary Poole. Nine (9) grandchildren, Jordan, Michael, Jayvien, Tyrene, Epic, Nadia, Zion, Houston and Macon. A special friend like a brother, Theothis Phillips, and a sister in Christ, Ann Carroll, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
