Obituary
Mrs. Ruth T. Morris was called to be with the Lord on May 24, 2019 at Magnolia Regional Medical Center.
She was born on October 27, 1927 to the late Joe Thurman and Annie Davis Thurman in Rockbluff, Florida. After the death of Mr. Thurman, Mrs. AnnieThurman later married Edward Peterson. Ruth's parents and stepfather preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother Gabriel Thurman, sister Mary Johnson and son Rayfield Morris.
She accepted Christ at an early age and in her latter years was a member of Mt. Calm Baptist Church in Magnolia, Arkansas.
In 1948 she married Walter James Morris Sr. To this union there were three children. Ruth travelled extensively with her husband who was in the U.S. Air Force for 20 plus years. Her husband also preceded her in death in 1978.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a sister Ola M. Thurston of Tampa, Florida; a brother-in-law Floyd (Agatha) Morris of Savannah, Georgia; a son Walter James (Virgie) Morris, Jr. Of Magnolia; a daughter Peggy Morris of Magnolia; grandsons Robert (Stephany) Morris II of Texarkana; Walter (Vante) Morris III of Magnolia; Mark (Ambra) Smith of North Carolina and granddaughter Dawn (Ron) Sanders of Little Rock; eleven great grandchildren; outstanding Oak Street neighbors; 2 nieces in Tampa Bessie and Kitty, exceptional extended family in the St. Matthew Community including her dancing partner, Shay and many other friends and relatives.
