Obituary

Rodney, affectionately known as “Rod,” “Jed,” and “Buddy,” Johnson was born on March 16, 1967, to Versie “Mutt” Chambers and the late Nathan “Buddy” Johnson.
On Wednesday, June 6, 2018, Rodney answered the call to go to his Heavenly home.
He was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. He was also a member of the Waldo High School graduating class of 1985.

His professional life was a very special one because one of his positions helped in keeping God’s earth beautiful. He was a landscaper by trade. He worked for Pittman Landscaping, Porteco, John Michael, Dixie Inc., Dywood Inc., and Hudson.
“Jed” was also an avid horseback rider. He found joy in being able to maneuver horses in the direction he wanted them to go.

He was preceded in death by his father, Nathan “Buddy” Johnson, Sr.; brother, Nathan Johnson, Jr.; and his grandparents.

Those left to cherish his precious memories are: his loving wife, Kathy Johnson; daughters, Quineshia (Adrian) Williams and Kateannia Johnson; mother, Versie Chambers; sisters, Nickie Johnson, Effie Burnell, Verta Flowers, and Dorothy Flowers; brothers, Donniel (Umeka) Burnell, Tony Jonson, Nathan Burnell, and Charles (Octavia) Flowers; grandchildren, Xzavior Williams, Aidyn Williams, and Zykeria Johnson; special aunt, Daisy Hills; special cousins/friends, Evelyn “Gail” (Randy) Pickens, Lester Mixon, Kenneth Turner, Clifton Hughey, Sr., and Robert “Bug” Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends who will miss him dearly.
