Robert Eugene Baker
Robert Eugene Baker was born on October 19, 1971 to Milton Torrence and Diane Butler in Camden, Arkansas. He accepted Christ at an early age.
During his adolescent years he went to Stephens High School in Stephens, Arkansas. Gene (as he was known by most) loved anything outdoors such as hunting, fishing, working on cars and racing. He would make frequent trips to see his family who lived in Arkansas.
As Gene got older he began working different trades such as working in chicken factories, security, stewarding and maintenance. With any job he made many, many friends – friends that he still had until this day.
Gene met Kelly Ann Hardeman in 2000 and married her in 2001. To this union 2 sons were born – Robert, Jr. and Khairee. Once he got married he also became dad to his wife’s children – DaeSean (DJ) and Rayna. Being a father meant the world to him. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his kids or anyone else’s. He always passed on his knowledge to them and taught them many, many things. He would often take his family camping, fishing or on long car rides. He enjoyed this time immensely. He took pride in showing his sons how to work on cars and motor bikes. Gene was also a very loving and protective son and brother. He always looked forward to going home to Arkansas for a round of hunting and to see his family.
Gene was also a man of many characters. Upon meeting with you Gene had an instant friend...
He didn’t know your name he knew you by the nickname he gave you. He had many nicknames for everyone and everyone called him “Cuda”, “Country”, or “Coon”.
What really gave him great joy was riding his motorcycle and he did so every day. He joined the SF Cobra’s Motorcycle Club in 2006, gaining the name “Big Country”. Joining this club meant a lot to him and he was a dedicated member till death.
Robert Eugene Baker was called home on Sunday, August 5, 2012. He will be sorely missed by all.
Robert leaves to mourn: his wife – Kelly Ann, his children – Darell, Dontarious, Robert Jr., Khairee, DaeSean (DJ) and Rayna (Robert Baker, Jr. (the first) preceded him in death); Mother – Diane Butler and Edgar Butler; siblings (California) – Alice Jones, Cynthia Jones, Exavier and Etonia (Missy) Butler; (Arkansas) Pamela Field, Gena Davis, Marvette Torrence, Kenya Carson, Yolanda Torrence, Tonya Armstrong, LaToya Armstrong, Cheryl Adams, Cedric Torrence, Michael Torrence, Milton Torrence, Jr. and Jeffrey Baker; cousins: Kenny Torrence, Jessica Lynn Baker, Robert Lee Baker, Robert Earl Baker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
