Highlights of Life

Robert Lewis Boone (R.L) was born January 23, 1935 in Lisbon, Arkansas, to the late Elcie and Walter Boone Sr. after 79 years of life; he quietly slipped away at 4:48 am on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Arkansas.

He accepted Christ at an early age at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Lisbon, Arkansas. He served on the usher board and was the Church Scholarship Funding Treasurer, and also served on the City Council of Smackover for over 15 years.

He attended Smackover Training School and was later drafted to the Detroit Tigers Minor League. He was employed with Daniel Chevrolet in Smackover for several years before building his own Automotive Body Shop, in which he served his community for over 45 years.

He united in holy matrimony to Ernestine Mullins Boone on August 19, 1966. From this union was born one son, Rolando (Jennifer). His family held a special place in his heart. He believed in the family unit and that family is a circle of strength and love.
 
Preceding R.L.in death are his parents, Elcie and Walter Boone Sr., five brothers: Urelee Boone, Walter Boone Jr., Sie Boone, Carnell Boone, Charlie Boone, and two sisters: Georgia Floyd and Pearlie O’Guinn.

To cherish his loving memory he leaves his wife, four sisters: Alberta Waldon of Eldorado, AR, Julia (M.D.Jr) Snowden of Seattle, Washington, Alvenia Daniels of Los Angeles, California, and Kaylnn Franklin of Smackover, Arkansas, and nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins, and friends.
