Pamela Murray was born January 16, 1955 in Las Vegas, Nevada to the late Irene Hunnicutt and Robert McCellan.
She gave her life to Christ at an early age at Washington Chapel Church of God in Christ. She later served at Glover Memorial Church of God in Christ.
In 1972 she united with Leroy Murray (Hound Dog) and to this union six (6) children were born. In 1992 she united in marriage to Willie Murphy (Dub) and as an added blessing from both unions she was adorned with ten (10) step-children.
She attended McMitress School in Emerson, Arkansas. She moved to Las Vegas, Nevada and continued her education, but obtained her G.E.D. at Magnolia Adult Education Center in Magnolia, Arkansas. She attended Southern Arkansas University where she earned her degree in nursing. She was gainfully employed at Tucson Medical Center in Tucson, AZ until her health failed.
Proceeding her in death is her mother: Irene Hunnicutt, father: Robert McCellan, grand parents: Buddy and Onnie Maxey and sister: Sarah Hunnicutt.
On Monday, May 28, 2012 God called her home at her sister’s home in Waldo, Arkansas.
She leaves to cherish her memories: three (3) daughters and three (3) sons: Pearlie Young and Douglas Murray of Dallas, Texas; Richard Murray, Marcus Murray of Tucson, Arizona and Gwendolyn (Derwin) McGee and Debbie Murray of Las Vegas, Nevada. Four (4) sisters and two (2) brothers: Margaret Hunnicutt of Emerson, Arkansas, Alta Haynes of Magnolia, Arkansas, Costella (Kenneth) Strong of Waldo, Arkansas, Lucille Hunnicutt of Camden, Arkansas, Jonathan (Nettie) Brown of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert McCellan Jr. of Gurdon, Arkansas. Two (2) aunts and one (1) uncle: Tinnie Wilson of Magnolia, Arkansas, Pearlie Richardson and Dink Maxey of Las Vegas, Nevada. Sixteen (16) grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
