Obituary

Otis A. Murray of McNeil, Arkansas was born on April 26, 1922, in Columbia Co. near McNeil Arkansas to Rev.Jessie Murray and Altha Smith Murray Jones Berry.

He was called home on Sunday, March 13, 2011.

He was united in marriage to Emma Lee Smith on December 6th 1941.  To this union nine (9) children were born. 

He professed a faith in Christ at an early age. He united with the Emmanuel A.M.E. Church of McNeil, Arkansas, and then with the McNeil Christian Center for the past nineteen (19) years, where he served as a deacon.

He retired from Alumax- SAPA after thirty-four (34) years of service.  He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Emma Lee Murray, four (4) brothers: Williams, L.D., Roston, and Lee Roy, three (3) sisters: Gracie Mae, Joreen, and Lou Ella.

   Survivors include: his loving wife, Mildred Murray of the home, one (1) sister-Reonia Watson of Los Angeles California; four (4) sons: Houston Murray of Hot Springs, Arkansas; James Otis (Dorothy) Murray of Little Rock, Arkansas; Moses Murray (Betty) and Milton Murray all of McNeil; five (5) daughters: Daisy Thomas, Maxcine Neal, Linda Fantroy, and Patsy Weaver (Leon) all of Dallas, Texas; and Edna (Larry) Rodgers of Little Rock, Arkansas;
one (1) stepdaughter: Barbara George (Rev. Wylie) of El Dorado, Arkansas.

Nineteen (19) grandchildren; twenty-five (25) great grandchildren; fifteen (15) great great-grandchildren; three (3) step grandchildren and two (2) step great-grand children, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
