Reflection of Life

Mattie (Pugh) Hunter was born December 25th, 1920 in Emerson, Arkansas. She was the second of eight children born to late George and Georgie Goode-Pugh.
Mattie was a very small strong and beautiful woman, but no one could have underestimated her strength. Mattie had a passion for quilting; she made beautiful quilts all by hand. She also loved fishing and hunting with her brothers when she was young. Mattie was named after her Aunt Mattie Goode, her mother’s sister.
She met and married Paul Dixon, and then she later met and married Dan Hunter. Mattie never had children.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, five (5) brothers: Willie, Alex (John Henry), Herbert, Hubert (Baby) and Wilson Pugh. One (1) sister: Fannie Martin.
She leaves to cherish her memory: one (1) sister: Annette (Allene) Pugh-Peoples of Los Angeles, C., and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members.
