Obituary
Our beloved Sis. Margie Lee Lindsey Sharp was born Thursday, February 9, 1933 in Emerson, Arkansas to Tommy Lee Lindsey and Elcie Lee Germany Lindsey.
Sis. Sharp accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age at Piney Grove CME Church in Emerson, Arkansas. She later joined the First Baptist Church Calhoun Heights and upon her death, she was a faithful member of Mercy and Grace Baptist Church. She united in holy matrimony with Phil B. Sharp on September 21, 1956 in Chicago, IL. From this union two children were born, Lepaine Sharp-McHenry and Peggy Ann Johnson, deceased.
Sis. Sharp’s early education began at Mcmitrress High School, where she graduated in 1951. After graduating she moved to Chicago, IL and attended the Lydia Adams Beauty College.
Her career as a beautician spanned over 50 years. She was an active member of Chapter #5 in the Arkansas Beautician Association and continued until her retirement. She served as a mentor to new beauticians as they begin their careers. She was dedicated to helping young women learn the trade and begin their business.
Sis. Sharp served her community and was actively involved in the Columbia Baptist District Association Women’s Department. She served as a pastor’s wife for over 45 years. She was a member of the Columbia Baptist Association Minister’s Wives and Widows and served as treasurer. She was also a member of Minister Wives Cotera. She worked tirelessly to serve the minister wives as well as the Columbia District Baptist Association. In 2016, she was honored with the Columbia District Legend Award. Sis. Sharp not only raised her children but extended herself to others children. She had a spirit of hospitality and her home became the home of nieces, nephews, and friends which still consider her mom today!
