Obituary
Lovell Thompson, age 79, went to be with the LORD on Saturday, September 5, 2015.
Lovell was born on September 3, 1936 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the proud union of Reeves Sr. and Addie Thompson.
He accepted Christ at a young age and lived by the words of Joshua, “As for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” He was a committed and dedicated member of New Providence Baptist Church where he served faithfully as an usher and deacon.
He united in Holy Matrimony to Dorothy (Johnson) Thompson, May 17, 1959. In this union two children were born.
Lovell was a committed and dedicated family man. He retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Company after thirty-six years of service. Lovell also retired from the United States Military Services, serving in the US Army and Army National Guard.
In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and fishing. During his younger life, he spent quality time with the elderly.
Lovell was preceded in death by: parents, Reeves Sr. and Addie Thompson, brothers: Reeves Thompson Jr. and Woodrow Thompson, sisters: Savannah and Mary Addie.
Left to mourn his death but celebrate his life is: his devoted wife of fifty-six years, Dorothy; two sons, Rory (Tameka) and Vincent (Debra) Thompson; special sister: Queen Thompson; grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
