Life's Reflection of Louis Quinn (L.Q.) Bailey

Louis Quinn (L.Q.) Bailey was born April 6, 1962 in McNeil, Arkansas.  L.Q. was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Rossie Shaw from McNeil.  He is survived by four sisters and a brother and his extended family from Magnolia Specialized Services.

L.Q. has been a part of the Magnolia Specialized Services family since 1975 starting at the Verbie Graney CARC Center.  He was one of the first residents to move into the  Jay Johnson Group Living Center in May of 1986.  Recognized by his peers as the "leader" of the Group Home, L.Q. enjoyed  taking charge of the group.  One of his favorite things was the annual summer vacation that the men at JJGLC took.  L.Q. always wanted to be a part of the vacation planning.

L.Q. was employed by the Amalia Weiser Child Enrichment Center as a rider on one of the preschool vans.  He took great pride in his job and was a very faithful employee.

In 1983, L.Q. was chosen to compete in track and field in the Summer International
Special Olympic Games in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Over the years he competed locally and statewide in softball, bowling, floor hockey, basketball and track and field.  Only this year did L.Q. decide to "retire" from area athletics Special Olympics Games.  He has numerous ribbons and awards to decorate his room from all of his Special Olympic achievements.
