OBITUARY

Lettie Mae Mullins was born August 12, 1915, in Mt Holly, Arkansas.  She was the third child of the late Nelson Moore and Rossie Sargent Moore.  After 98 years of life, she quietly slipped away at 12:15a.m. on October 10, 2013, at home in Smackover, Arkansas.

Sister Mullins united with the Damascus Baptist Church at an early age.  Later she was one of the original founders of the Greater Damascus Baptist Church, now known as Hosanna Baptist Church, where she remained until her death. There she served as president of the choir, president of the Missionary Society and Mother of the Church.

She always had a smile on her face and was very humble, always encouraging others and she made everyone feel at home.  Sister Mullins was a very classy lady, always dressed to the T from head to toe.  She loved to travel; just ask and she was ready to go.

One June 17, 1938, Lettie Moore was united in holy matrimony to the late Sterling Mullins. To this union God blessed them with nine children, five whom preceded her in death.  Her family held a special place in her heart.  She believed in the family unit and that family is a circle of strength and love.

Preceding Sister Mullins in death are her parents, husband: Sterling Mullins; five children: Velma Hildreth, Earvin Mullins, Rossie Lee Mullins, Carrie Mae Mullins and Sterling Mullins, Jr.; four brothers: David Mullins, James Nelson Moore, Dewey Hildreth and Emmit Hildreth; four sisters: Minerva Moore, Lillie Mae Johnson, Beatrice McDaniel and Pansy Alexander; and three grandchildren: Kelly, Robert and Michael White.

To cherish her loving memory she leaves three daughters: Ernestine (R.L.) Boone of Smackover, Arkansas, Lucy Mae White of Detroit, MI and Dorothy (Robert Clay) Tolerson  of Newport, Arkansas; one son: Alvin James Mullins and his special friend Gracie of Smackover, Arkansas; two sister: Leola Moore and Catherine Lewis both of San Francisco, CA; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Anner Ruth Mullins of Mt. Holly, Arkansas; two special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
