Obituary

Sis. Laura was born November 5, 1913 in Stephens, Arkansas to the late Eprrain Hicks and Lou Ida Johnson Hicks. She was the baby of sixteen children, ten (10) girls and six (6) boys.
Having lived 106 years, she gained victory December 5, 2019 at Ouachita Nursing and Rehabilitation in Camden, Arkansas.
She was a member of Spring Hill A.M.E. Church for many years. In 1950 after relocating to Ogemaw, AR, she joined New Union AME Church, where she served as Stewardess, Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher and Class Leader. 
She moved to Camden, AR in 1980 and joined St. James AME Church, serving in many capacities until her health begin to fail.
Laura united in Holy Matrimony to Leroy Green, Sr. To this union one (1) daughter and three (3) sons were born.
Later in life she married Mr. Otis Lewis.
Preceding her in death are two (2) husbands, two (2) sons, two (2) step-sons, nine (9) sisters, six (6) brothers, one (1) son-in-law: Charles H. Sanders, one (1)daughter-in-law: Claudia Green, granddaughter: Debra Ann Cann Warner, one (1) great grand, one (1) great-great grand. Known affectionately as Mama Laura to her grands. 
She leaves to cherish her many lovely memories: one (1) daughter, Lurlene Green Sanders (Stephens, AR), one (1) son, Leroy Green Jr. (Forney, TX), nine (9) grandchildren, Vanessa Ann (Lessly) Banks, Charles Randy Sanders, Belinda Renae (Bruce) Porchia, Sharon Marie (Jerry) Frazier, Kendric (Dawn) Walker, Angie (Roy) Jones, Ramun Green, Ebony Green, Quincy (Della) Green, one (1) grandson-in-law, Leon Warner, thirty (30) great grands, thirty-three great-great grands, two (2) great great-great grands, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
