Obituary

Irene Griffin Cooper was born August 16,1935 in Magnolia, Arkansas to Pennington John (PJ) Griffin, Sr. and Suannie Griffin. She lived in various places including London, New York, California, Wisconsin, and Texas but returned to Magnolia, AR where she lived until her death.
 Irene was a member of the Free Hope AME Church in your youth where she served as an usher. Upon her return to Magnolia, she united with Unity AME Church (formerly Free Hope and St. John AME Churches).
 Irene married Grady Cooper in the late 1950s. Although she had no children of her own, she helped raise nieces, nephews and many other children in the area for many years.
 Irene was preceded in death by her parents, 5 sisters (Martha, Lizzie B, Bernice, Ernestine, and Jeanette) and 3 brothers (Ernest, Johnnie B, and P J Jr.).
 She leaves to cherish her memories: 2 sisters Betty Buffington, Magnolia, AR; Ann Manning, Milwaukee, WI; 1 brother- Charles Griffin, Dallas, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
