Obituary
Hamp "Sonny" Smith of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away on October 08, 2018 at the age of 77 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center.
Hamp was born on February 22, 1941 as Andrew Cornelius Nash in Longview, Texas born to his biological mother Cargie Nash and later adopted by Alene V. Smith.
Hamp was a member of Unity AME Church in Magnolia, Where he served as an Usher, Sunday School Secretary, and Choir Member.
He was retired from Magnolia Public School Distract and Wesley Schools of Muskegon, Michigan.
Hamp is preceded in death by his mothers: Cargie Nash and Alene V. Smith, sister: Minnie Jean Reeves and Father-in-law: D.H. Hildreth.
He leaves those whom he loved to cherish his memory and bid him farewell. A loving wife Barbara Smith, for 35 years. Two sons: Elvis P. Smith, Kester Johnson and one daughter: Letetia Johnson and two grandchildren, Nathan Price, Noeel Warren, mother-in-law: Elnora Hildreth, four brother-in-laws: Charles (Valerie), Freddie (Catherine), Ralph (Angela), Kelvin (Fay). Four sister-in-laws: Rozell, Cynthia, Janice, and Oletha along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and friends and faithful members of unity AME Church.
