Glenda Marie Barnes was born in Wesson, Arkansas to Ed and Verline Whatley Barnes on August 8, 1947. She attended school at Rosen-Walden in Junction City, Arkansas. She also went to Job Corps in both McKinney, Texas and Omaha, Nebraska.

She grew up attending the Beulah Grove Baptist Church in Wesson. Later in life she attended the Kingdon Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in McNeil, Arkansas.

She was a longtime employee at Logoly State Park located in McNeil, Arkansas. She enjoyed playing softball, horsehoes, dominoes, laughing, joking and just having a good-time. She lost her battle with sickness on January 26, 2014.

Glenda Marie, as she was called by her mother, came from a large family totaling fourteen children. She was preceded in death by her mother: Verline and father: Ed Barnes, Sr. both long-time residents of Wesson, Arkansas. Sisters who preceded her in death were: Earllene Anita Hickman, infant sisters: Rosemary and Suzanne and One miscarried unknown baby girl. Three brothers preceded her in death: Robert Earl Barnes, Roy Lee Barnes , Charles Edward Barnes and a infant brother and one nephew: Eddie Clyde Loggins.

She is survived by her daughter: Loretta Lynn Wade of
Magnolia, Arkansas; son: Ellis Ray Farris and his wife Margie Farris from Stamps, Arkansas, and one grandson (Loretta’s son): Christopher Daniels.
She also leaves behind two sisters: Cynthia Denise and her husband Bennie Bell and Carolyn Cerese Dawson and her family all reside in El Dorado, Arkansas, as well as brothers: Ed Barnes, Jr. of Bernice, Louisiana, his wife Vern and family; Lloyd Edward Barnes of St. Louis, Missouri, his wife Josephine and family; Bobby Ray Barnes, and Charlie Roy Barnes and one uncle: Uncle Bubba Prentice Whatley all three live in El Dorado, Arkansas.

She is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and many relatives-although not named, you are still family. Glenda Marie Barnes had many friends and many acquaintances.
