Obituary
Brother Charles Henry Sanders, the third child of seven children, was born to William Taft and Diola Sanders on June 2, 1933. On the the morning of February 15, 2017, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, God whispered: "Peace be thine." and lifted him into eternal rest.
Charles was an active member of New Union A.M.E. Church, Stephens, Arkansas, where he served faithfully as Steward, Superintendent of Church School, Trustee, and Choir. He was a "Pillar of the Community" and was the all-around Handy Man.
On January 22, 1955, Charles married Lurlene Green and was blessed with 62 years of matrimony and loving memories. Five children were born into this life-long merger. He was a loving husband and father and a diligent worker ensuring that every provision was made for his family. Charles was fond of his family-especially his grandchildren. Many indelible, breathtaking moments were captured during the numerous and various well spent gatherings with his loving wife, wonderful children, and adorable grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers: Jessie, A.D., Howard, and Sherman Sanders.
Charles spent over twenty-five years as an employee at Elk Roofing Company in Stephens, Arkansas. For the next seven years, he was employed by American Pulpwood Company, Ogemaw, Arkansas (Ceo-Kenneth Poindexter). In 1989, he joined Arkansas Pulpwood Company (John Dawson-CEO) and was also the operator for the Ogemaw/Buena Vista Water Association. At the age of 83-well past retirement-God still blessed him to rise and shine and report to work daily. He gave a helping hand to anyone, and was quick about doing it. His philosophy: "Well, I'll just be doggone. Do it in a New York minute. If you got something to do, get on up and do it! Ain't no sense in just dragging around."
Charles Henry Sanders was too well loved to ever be forgotten. Therefore, lasting memories will forever be etched in our
