Life Journey


Sister Carrie Jean Smith Tooks was born to the late Willie Smith and Dolly Mae Sutton on February 19, 1941.  

She attended New Union A.M.E. of Ogemaw, Arkansas. She later joined Greater New Calvary of Camden, Arkansas where her health depreciated. She married John Henry Tooks on May 29, 1960.

She departed her life on April 7, 2014 at home of 214 South 4th Street Stephens, Arkansas. Carrie accepted Christ at an early age.  


She was preceded in death by her father: the late Willie Smith, her mother: the late Dolly Mae Sutton, her husband: the late John Henry Tooks, one son: the late Alfred Henry Tooks.

She leaves to cherish here: her brother: Willie Roy Smith of Camden, Arkansas, One sister: Billie Jean of Michigan; one daughter: Nancy Johnson (Ray) of Waldo, AR. Six sons: Mark Tooks (Maja) , Edward Tooks, Garret Knoral Tooks and Eric Tooks all of Stephens, Arkansas, Calvin Tooks (Suprena) of Dallas, Texas and Carl Tooks of Camden, Arkansas. Twenty-Seven (27) grandkids, eighteen (18) great-grands and a host of nieces and nephews other relatives and dear friends.
