Obituary
Odell Dorton was born in Haynesville, LA on July 25, 1924 to Lizzie Mae Jackson and Frank Grider.
Odell was educated in Claiborne Parish Schools.
She confessed Christ at an early age. In her younger years she attended Friendship Baptist Church until her mother was healed of chronic asthma under the ministry of Elder Utah Smith. She became a member of the Haynesville Church of God In Christ. She served faithfully until her health failed.
In 1941 she married the love of her life, Mr. Felton Dorton. Odell along with her husband didn’t bear any children, but she cherished all her love on her nephew Alma Ray Grider.
Odell was a kind and gentle person. She was a woman who was devoted to her church and her community.
Odell was preceded in death by her mother and father, her beloved husband Felton Dolton, her only sibling, Cloteal Grider and her beloved nephew, Alma Ray Grider. She leaves to cherish her memory many distant relatives and friends.
