Obituary
Sister Joann Clayton Snell, the daughter of the late Ellis and Virginia Clayton was born April 23, 1962 in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was born into a devout Christian family. She learned early in life her personal path to accept Jesus Christ as her Savior and her obligation to follow this path, and she followed it with unselfishness dedication until her death.
Sister Snell joined Washington Chapel Church of God in Christ as a youth, under the leadership of Elder Ray Williams. After the church relocated to the present location, she continued her membership with Glover Memorial Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Larry Ferguson. There she served with the hospitality ministry, and was the President of the Pastor’s Aide. She generously gave her full support and served with a gentle spirit, faithful, strong, and long-suffering with love and loyalty to her church family. She was honored on Sunday, January 31, 2011 during a Pastor’s Aid Program that she had previously planned.
Sister Snell attended Emerson School and graduated May 12, 1980. She was employed at AMFUEL for over 30 years, First Presbyterian Church for 5 plus years as Nursery Director, and Wal-mart for 4 years.
On January 29, 2011 our Lord and Savior called her home to her eternal rest. May her soul find peace, favor, and acceptance with God and may her good work live on.
Cherishing her memory are: one daughter Aries Clayton, Magnolia, AR; One grandson, Ja Quan Clayton, Magnolia, AR; Three sisters, Tessie Owens of Magnolia, AR; Annette Howell of Emerson, AR; and Vicki (Napolean) Davis of Las Vegas, NV; three brothers, Ellis Clayton and Larry (Charlotte) Clayton of Emerson, AR; Graylin (Rose Mary) Clayton of Magnolia, AR; one uncle Horatio Glover of Milwaukee, WI; and a host nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
